Accessories compatiblity
Official accessories¶
- Cases, screen protectors and chargers sold directly by Brax are tested for physical fit and electrical compatibility with BraX3
- Check the official store for currently available accessories that are marketed specifically for BraX3
Third party compatible accessories¶
BraX3 uses common standards which makes third party accessories easier to source:
- USB C for charging and data
- 3.5 mm audio jack for wired headphones
- Standard Bluetooth profiles for wireless audio and peripherals
When choosing third party accessories, prefer reputable brands and check voltage and current ratings for chargers and power banks.
Charger compatibility¶
BraX3 supports a maximum wired charging rate of 10 W. Using a larger, high wattage adapter will not make the phone charge faster, but a poorly matched or very low quality adapter can:
- cause unstable charging or the phone repeatedly connecting and disconnecting
- run hotter than necessary
- shorten the lifetime of the battery or charger
Recommended adapter specs¶
For the best balance of safety, efficiency and compatibility, we recommend:
- A USB-C power adapter from a reputable brand
- Rated for at least 10 W (for example 5 V / 2 A or higher)
- Supporting standard USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) or basic 5 V USB charging - no proprietary fast charge is required
Using a 15 W, 20 W or even higher rated adapter is fine - the BraX3 will simply draw up to its 10 W limit. The adapter should still meet safety certifications for your region (CE, UL, etc.).
What to avoid¶
- Very cheap, unbranded chargers with no visible safety markings
- Adapters that advertise only proprietary fast-charging standards without mentioning basic 5 V output
- Damaged or loose USB-C cables, which can limit current or cause intermittent charging
If in doubt, start by testing with a known good 5 V / 2 A (or higher) USB-C adapter and cable, then compare behaviour with other chargers.
Community tested items¶
Over time, the community can maintain lists of accessories that are known to work well with BraX3, such as:
- Screen protectors that fit without covering sensors
- Cases that do not interfere with buttons, microphones or antennas
- Docks or hubs that work with the supported operating systems
You can share your findings and look up recommendations on the Brax community forums.
Fit and performance notes¶
- Very tight cases can affect button feel or press reliability
- Metal or heavily shielded cases may reduce wireless performance if they cover antennas
- Some USB C hubs draw more power than others, which can affect charging rates
If you run into accessory related issues, test with the original accessories or a minimal setup to isolate the cause.
